In a new YouTube ad, former and God-willing future Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi goes after Stephen Colbert and his totally-not-coordinated SuperPAC "Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow" for corrupting politics with undisclosed donor money, attacking her friend Newt, and reportedly disliking kittens.
Stephen Colbert used to be my friend. I even signed the poor baby's cast when he hurt his hand. The DISCLOSE Act was written in response to Citizens United and sponsored by Chris Van Hollen in the House and Chuck Schumer in the Senate. But since the day he created his SuperPAC, taking secret money from special interests, he's been out of control, even using his SuperPAC to attack my friend, Newt Gingrich.
And if that weren't enough, I hear he doesn't even like kittens.
Colbert must be stopped.
I'm Nancy Pelosi, and I support this ad because Americans deserve a better tomorrow, today.
Join me in stopping Colbert and creating a new politics free of special interest money. The first step is passing the Disclose Act.

Despite Speaker Boehner's objections, the House passed the DISCLOSE act by a bipartisan vote (219-206) on June 24, 2010. The Senate killed the bill when a cloture vote failed 59-39 in September 2010.
On the same day the House passed the DISCLOSE Act, the Supreme Court issued an 8-1 opinion in Doe v. Reed that creates a clear opportunity for modifying Citizens United with a disclosure requirement. That case upheld a Washington State law that compels the public disclosure of referendum signers. As J. Scalia wrote in his concurring opinion:
Requiring people to stand up in public for their political acts fosters civic courage, without which democracy is doomed. For my part, I do not look forward to a society which, thanks to the Supreme Court, campaigns anonymously and even exercises the direct democracy of initiative and referendum hidden from public scrutiny and protected from the accountability of criticism. This does not resemble the Home of the Brave. The DISCLOSE Act is an important step towards batting down the execrable Citizens United. Join Nancy Pelosi in supporting DISCLOSE and taking out Stephen Colbert's SuperPAC. Because anonymous campaign donors are anti-democracy. And Colbert doesn't like kittens.
